4-star CITY hotel HENRIETTE in Vienna, Austria
A Good Place in Vienna – and for Vienna
Welcome to your favourite place in Vienna: the 4-star Hotel Henriette
This is it, our four-star hotel in Vienna's city centre. Henriette is much more than a hotel where business people and Vienna fans can find accommodation. That wouldn't be too exciting, would it? Henriette is a place full of personality. And the place in Vienna where you are invited to sleep better, eat better and experience the real Vienna – find all of this and more in Vienna's exciting, lively 2nd district.
Family-run, personal, full of life
We simply love what we do! And we have done so for generations. What our founders Jacek and Annelie started is now being continued by forward-thinkers Georg and Verena – with plenty of fresh ideas, high-quality standards, respect for our surroundings and the environment, and sustainable steps for a good future.
And with our colourful team made of individuals who share the same values. Together, we make our guests' wishes come true and introduce them to some very special things. We carefully choose bed linen, food, products and tips for Vienna just for you. What a way to set a wonderful mood for us all!
Real sustainability for better sleep & a better breakfast
Are you kind of tired of hearing about sustainability? Do you want to enjoy travelling without the feeling you're being lectured? We understand, we feel the same way.
Nevertheless – why do we choose to be perhaps the most sustainable hotel in Vienna?
- Because treating people, the environment and resources with respect is needed to create a good place.
- Because local and pesticide-free food tastes better.
- Because you simply sleep better in plastic-free bed linen.
- Because rooms cleaned without the use of chemicals are better for your health.
- Because we want to offer you the best quality.
- Because we don't want to have a guilty conscience. And we guess you don't, either. ;-)
In love with Vienna & the Praterstrasse neighbourhood
You want to experience the real Vienna. But – what is the real Vienna? How does it feel? Where can you find it? Well, the answers are as diverse as the city itself. Vienna is as much Empress Sisi, Sachertorte and Schönbrunn as it is the Giant Ferris Wheel, graffiti on the Donaukanal and cool vegan ice cream shops around the corner.
We know it's hard to decide. So we are happy to help you with our personal tips and recommendations.
Just talk to us: at reception, at breakfast, or as you browse our staff's favourite places around Vienna in the photo gallery in our stairwell. Or have a look here. Or follow us on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook for some more Vienna ideas. However you do your research: We love sharing our Vienna love with you! ♥
But there's a clear answer to at least one question: The real Vienna can be found right outside the Hotel Henriette. Every time you enter or leave the hotel. In the heart of it all, between Prater's Riesenrad Ferris wheel and St Stephen's Cathedral.
This is the number one question we get – What's behind our name? We are Henriette – but who is Henriette?
The name Henriette is actually an homage to the neighbourhood, our "Grätzel". HENRIETTE STRAUSS was the first wife and manager of king of the waltz Johann Strauss II. They lived at Praterstrasse 54, just four doors down from us. And it is there that Henriette's husband composed his most famous piece – "The Blue Danube", the Danube Waltz.
Henriette "Jetty" Strauss-Treffz herself had a gift for languages and music, and was widely travelled and a strong, independent, unconventional woman. As a singer, she had already made a name for herself internationally before she married Johann Strauss II, who was seven years younger than her, and boosted his career.
She embodied Vienna's charm and its many facets that are waiting for you to discover – making her name a perfect fit for our 4-star hotel in Vienna.
